KDW NEWS BYTES

Since 2005, Kansas Disciples Women have published a electronic monthly communication, KDW NEWS BYTES. It is produced by the staff and e-mailed to all interested women and others who have signed up with Rebecca Burton, Cabinet Recorder/Communications Director.

The NEWS BYTES are generally sent out early each calendar month, but also on the occasion of special events or pressing news can be received more often.

Many individuals do not have internet capabilities, so they have chosen to have the publication sent to the local church secretary who passes the information along to the DWF/CWF membership. If interested in receiving this publication, email your request to kansasdiscipleswomen@gmail.com

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Another year has passed and I pray that each of you is working on exciting new projects for 2012.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS DAY PRAYERS
Wednesday, Jan. 11, was Human Trafficking Awareness Day. The United Nations defines human trafficking as “The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation".
As Christians we come on this day to stand together believing the power of prayer, praise and God's Word are the most powerful forces to fight this. As we pray together, we remember each victim and each parent who is deeply affected by this evil. We are standing before God on their behalf, seeking God for help, just as we would our own child. We also are asking God for protection from the perpetrators who continue seeking to capture our children.

PRAYING FOR THE VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING
We stand together praying for the protection, rescue & recovery of the victims Protection We thank you God for defending the helpless in their situation and removing any guilt they have. Calling out to you O God we ask that you cause them to be rescued soon and quickly. Rescue We anxiously seek Your help Mighty God and thank you for hearing our request for their rescue. You are omniscient and omnipotent, able to hear what we cannot, knowing how to rescue them to be released from the various places their perpetrator hides them from us Recovery We are thankful and most grateful for Your Word that is all healing and powerful.
