Staff
Rev. Renee Bridwell joined the staff of the Christian Church in Kansas in March 2008. As Associate Regional Minister, her responsibilities include:
- District Minister for the congregations in the South Central District
- Staff consultant for the New Church Priority
- Regional Treasurer
- Regional communications: Kansas Messenger, Mini-Messenger, and website
- Oversight of the South Central District office
- One of the staff consultants for Regional Assembly 2012
Renee serves on the board of directors of Kansas Christian Home and recently completed a term on the board of Kansas Ecumenical Ministries. She is based at the Disciples Center at Tawakoni, our regional campground near Augusta, KS. Renee is a native of Kansas, and was an active participant in Kansas regional youth, camp and conference programs. She earned the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education at Phillips University and the Master of Divinity at Phillips Graduate Theological Seminary.
After her ordination in 1992, the family moved to Illinois where she and her husband Steve were co-pastors at First Christian Church in Marion for nine years. In 2001 she was called as pastor of 15th Avenue Christian Church in Rock Island. In Oklahoma then Illinois, she served in a number of regional leadership capacities, on a general church task force and on the Board of Directors of Church Finance Council. On the CFC Board she chaired the Vision Committee which led the Council to seek merger into the General Assembly of the Christian Church and to disperse its several functions into compatible agencies of the church.
Renee and her husband Steve, a Disciples Intentional Interim minister, have two adult children. Mike lives in southern California with his young daughter Mackenzie. Sara and her husband Rick Eichenlaub, also a Disciples pk, live near Pisa, Italy where he is stationed at Camp Darby. Their daughter Julieann was born in 2011
